As we all know, an email alert is one of the essential features of security cameras. Once the motion alerts are triggered, the email notifications will automatically inform you of motion events in real time. However, configuring email alert settings to your camera can be overwhelming, in this post, we will guide you on how to set up email alerts on ieGeek security cameras step by step.

How to set up email alerts?
1. Set up emails alerts via the ieGeek app
① Go to camera settings page
Launch the CamHipro app, tap the corresponding in the all Devices list, go to the camera setup page, press “Settings” icon.
② Configure email address settings
Press “Alarm management and notification”, Turn on “Alarm capture sent to Email”, subsequently enter “Configure Email” page, here are some parameters we should configure:
- SMTP server name: smtp.office365.com
- Server port: 587
- Encrypt type: STARTTLS
- Authentication: Turn on
- Username: Your email address to receive triggered alarms
- Password: The password of your email address
- Send to: Your email address to receive alerts notifications
- Sender: Your email address to send email alerts, note that the “ Send to” address can be the same as “Sender” address.
- Subject: Motion email alerts
③ Test the email alerts
After you finish all these information, press the “Apply” button. When it pops up “Mailbox settings saved successfully”, you can put in “Message” and press “Test” to check out weather it works.
2. Set up email alerts via ieGeek client
We are also allowed to set up email alerts via the client in the same way.
① Add the device to the client
Launch the HiP2P client, press the settings gear icon, when the login reminder pops up, tap “OK”. Press “Input UID” button to add your device to the clients.
② Connect device to the client
Press the camera icon, click “camera” and right-click the mouse, choose “Connected Device”. After your security camera is connected to the client, long press the “camera” and drag it to the right screen monitor area.
③ Configure email address settings
Back to the setting gear page, go to “Parameter settings”, choose “Alarm Setting”, click “E-mail Setting”.
Subsequently here are several parameters you should finish:
- SMTP server name: smtp.office365.com
- Server port: 587
- Safe link: STARTTLS
- Username: Your email address to receive triggered alarms
- Password: The password of your email address
- Send to: Your email address to receive alerts notifications
- Sender: Your email address to send email alerts, note that the “ Send to” address can be the same as the “Sender” address.
- Subject: Motion alerts notifications
After you complete all these key settings information, you are supposed to press “Apply”.
④ Test the email alerts
Finally, put a message in “Information”, and press “Email Test” to check out whether your camera settings are working or not.
Additionally: The “User Name” ought to be your email address, or you won’t receive any email alerts.
